Mera wala PINK

Rani pink.. there is no english word in the Babu's dictionary for 'rani pink'. As I waited in line at the Venkateshwar temple , I saw an ld Maharashtrian ajji , get out of a car , in the quintessential puneri sari , in a deep pink ... almost majenta , not quite.. more like a ... forget it ..in a rani pink sari with a parrot green border. I thought to myself , "there is no english word to properly describe a decent shade of rani pink..
Now , the english language has baby pink, the salmon pink , then there is strawberry pink , but how would it described the colour which is so Indian in it's essence that it takes an Indian name..
The colour of gulaal , Rani pink. It's vibrant , but not vulgar. So terms like Hot pink , or shocking pink are just disgusting ..and down right demeening.
Rani pink is so authentically Indian that many a phoren pop star have tried to wear it to disastrous ends. I remember in 'bend it like Beckham' ,the main lead had worn a 'rani pink sari' at the wedding, and she looked like a positive 'bai'. That led me to declare that 'rani pink' should not only be off limits to non Indians , but to non resident Indians too. They get so over awed by the colour, that they stop being themselves, also they hope that the bindi and the pink will transform them into 'Indians' . Here is a colour that can over power, it is not a dark shade of pink , but a deep shade of pink. You've got to be comfortable being who you are , you have to believe in yourself, your worth , know your values , believe ...and 'be' an INDIAN WOMAN.
You see, the rani pink , is worn by the budhwar peth prostitute , the alluring pink has been in years of yore been used as an enchanting spell by lavni dancers , it's a colour worn by young brides , to bring out the blush of new love. It's also worn by old ajji's when they are 70 ..
Rani pink , like a true rani of colours, demands attention , commands attention , and no it does not come in subdued or muted shades ... but neither is it frivolous or for the teeny bopper. It needs a different set of aesthetics to understand .. the strength of a woman , essentially Indian.

5 Korean phrases every K drama fan should know

5 Korean phrases every K drama fan should know ./  5 k drama phrases which add drama in a Korean drama. Korean dramas or K-dramas are filled with sweet predictable clichés , scenes that are repeated in almost every other drama, because they never seize to bring on the drama feels. Are you a k drama fan? Have you noticed how some scenes and some phrases get repeated in so many dramas? Here are a few of my favourite Hangul phrases which help heighten the drama in a Kdrama. Orae-man-iyo / Orae- mani- dae This phrase means ; it’s been a long time. The first version Orae mani iyo is the more formal way of saying it.it is one of my favourite phrases, a fabulous drama building phrase, it could be used when two arch enemies meet after a long time , one grew up to be a sleazy lawyer, the other an upstanding prosecutor. Or two high school sweethearts with a heartbreaking breakup meet in their adult life. It is a phrase filled with emotions; be it a veiled threat , a sense of l
